Department of Exceptional Education Mission Statement

The mission of CCPS is to work in partnerships with students, family and the community to ensure that each student acquires the knowledge, skills and core values necessary to achieve personal success and enrich the community.
In accordance with this mission, the Office of Exceptional Education, in compliance with federal, state and division procedures, provides leadership, resources and professional development to foster research-based best practices for the specialized instruction and supports that each student needs.

Our vision for the Department of Exceptional Education is aligned with the Chesterfield County Public Schools Vision and Design for Excellence. This vision is developed within the context of expectations for all students to learn 21st Century knowledge and skills. Our vision is also grounded in best practices for students with disabilities and based upon knowledge of our current performance and practice.
