Chesterfield County Public Schools designated November as College and Career Readiness Month in order to purposefully help students make connections and understand how skills and knowledge learned in grades K-12 relate to their potential careers, and several events are scheduled to help students envision and plan for their futures.
College fairs will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 4:30-6 p.m. at the Chesterfield Career and Technical Center at Hull, 13900 Hull Street Road, and Monday, Oct. 31 at 7-8:30 p.m. at John Tyler Community College Chester Campus, 13101 Jefferson Davis Highway. More than 100 colleges are scheduled to attend the college fairs.
In addition, the K-12 Career Readiness Expo is 6-8 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Chesterfield Career and Technical Center at Hull, 13900 Hull Street Road. The event is designed for students of all ages and their families to explore career and technical education opportunities and to learn how K-12 choices prepare students to succeed in their future careers. The event is free and will feature hands-on exhibits, presentations and light refreshments.
