In recognition of dedication to academic excellence, leadership development and commitment to celebrating student achievements, Carver College and Career Academy, Clover Hill High, Cosby High and Monacan High all earned the prestigious honor and recognition as a 2017 National Beta School of Merit.
“We want our students to become strong leaders who will make a positive difference in our community upon graduation,” School Board Chair Dr. Siddiqi said. “We are so proud of our high schools for receiving this national recognition, which highlights the successes the school has had in preparing students for life and empowering them to be successful in the future.”
The National Beta Club is the largest, independent nonprofit, educational youth organization in the country, and for more than 80 years, it has prepared students to be leaders of tomorrow.
“It is important for Chesterfield County Public Schools to recognize the achievements of our students, build strong character, instill leadership and showcase the importance of providing service to our community,” Superintendent Dr. James Lane said. “Extracurricular opportunities like the Beta Club help us promote these ideas to our students.”
Award recipients of the National Beta School of Merit status receive a window decal to proudly display their accomplishment and will be recognized at the 2017 National Beta Convention in June.
