Free event offers exceptional education resources

Chesterfield County Public Schools invites parents and teachers of students with disabilities and students with disabilities to an exceptional education resource fair for grades K-12. The free event will take place 4-6 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Career and Technical Center @ Hull, 13900 Hull Street Road.

Representatives from many organizations will offer information, and guest speakers will provide overviews of available services. Here are some of the organizations participating in the resource fair:

  • Chesterfield County Public Schools
  • Virginia Department of Education
  • Chesterfield County Department of Social Services
  • Virginia Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired
  • Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services
  • PAVE at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College
  • John Tyler Community College
  • Chesterfield County 4-H
  • Greater Richmond ARC
  • Decoding Dyslexia Virginia
  • Autism Society Central Virginia
  • Young Life Capernaum
  • Resources for Independent Living

Also participating will be school-based businesses run by students with disabilities. The businesses will be selling coffee, bakery items, greeting cards and more.

Resource fair attendees should park behind the Career and Technical Center @ Hull and enter through the Thomas R. Fulghum Conference Center doors. Free pizza will be available. Questions? Call 639-8749.
