Goals for the year

Posted on

Have your child set goals for the year. This process helps children think about what they want to achieve (such as getting a lead in the school musical) or issues that need to be addressed (such as handing in homework on time). Research says goal setting is most effective when it involves self-improvement vs. competing against others — i.e. improving one’s time in cross country vs. placing first in every race. The first tends to generate more pride and satisfaction, while the second can fuel frustration. Source: http://tinyurl.com/ceb3ud6. #TableTalk
