New teachers to kick off their Chesterfield County Public Schools careers with free shopping

Posted on

From Crayons to Computers, a free store for Chesterfield County teachers and school staff members, is re-opening for the new school year.

To help new teachers and new school administrators start off on the right foot, the store will open especially for them 1-5:30 p.m. Aug. 24. Starting Sept. 1, the store will be open during its regular hours of 2:30-5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when school is in session. From Crayons to Computers is located in Spring Rock Green shopping center at 7138 Midlothian Turnpike.

Everything at From Crayons to Computers is free. Supported by the Chesterfield Education Foundation, the store gets donations from individuals, businesses and community groups and passes those items on so that teachers can outfit their classrooms at no cost. Available items include books, paper, pencils, notebooks, filing cabinets, bookshelves, decorations, craft supplies and more — everything from crayons to computers!
