Read 2 Rover
Each month, Ecoff Elementary students participate in Read 2 Rover. Students from every grade are chosen to read in small groups with a therapy dog. There can be as many as six dogs involved. This month’s Read 2 Rover will take place 3-3:45 p.m. Dec. 7. For more information, call 768–6185.

Matoaca High’s performing arts programs will present a winter concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 10 in the auditorium. The band, choirs, orchestra and guitar ensemble will perform seasonal and Christmas music. Bensley Elementary will hold a pancake breakfast and workshop for parents 8:30 a.m.–noon Dec. 12. All Bensley Elementary parents are invited to learn more about the new elementary report cards, grading scale and work–related skills. Kindergarten parents and parents new to Bensley will also learn about the Dreambox math program, and the PTA will sponsor a gift shop for children to buy inexpensive gifts for family members. Family Art Night
Curtis Elementary will hold its second annual Family Art Night 6:30-7:30 p.m. Dec. 15. The event will include displays of work from every grade level, collaborative and individual art activities for families and information about how the projects connect to Virginia’s Standards of Learning in art, science, social studies and language arts.
