Dancing With New Dimensions
Modeled on “Dancing With the Stars,” this event at 7 p.m. Jan. 13 pairs members of Clover Hill High’s award-winning show choir, New Dimensions, with Chesterfield County celebrities. This dancing event is open to the public; tickets cost $10 and can be purchased at the door of the school auditorium or from any of the performers. Curtis Elementary students will visit the MathScience Innovation Center 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Jan. 5-8 and Jan. 11. One third- or fourth-grade will visit the center each day. Third-graders will learn about simple machines and build models with motors and sensors. The Chesterfield County School Board has hired BWP & Associates to conduct a national search for the next superintendent of Chesterfield County Public Schools. The School Board is seeking a successor to Dr. Marcus Newsome, who announced in the fall that he will retire at the end of the 2015-16 school year. Adult Continuing Education
Through Adult Continuing Education, Chesterfield County residents who are 18 or older can develop workforce skills, explore an interest, earn a GED or enroll in English for Speakers of Other Languages classes. Registration for spring classes begins at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 11, and online access (ace.mychesterfieldschools.com) makes it easier than ever to register.
