There is still time to register for the Nurse Aide class offered this summer through Chesterfield County Public Schools’ Adult Continuing Education Office.
Nurse Aide classes will meet 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Mondays through Wednesdays from June 19-Aug. 10 at the Chesterfield Career and Technical Center @ Courthouse. Designed for anyone seeking employment as a nurse aide in a hospital or nursing home, this course provides instruction in the classroom, lab and nursing home. Students will complete a minimum of 80 hours in class and 40 hours in a clinical setting. After successfully completing this course, students are eligible to take the Virginia Board of Nursing examination for certification as a nurse aide. Prerequisites are successful completion of Introduction to Health Care with CCPS Adult Continuing Education. The fee is $810, and this class is approved for veterans benefits.

Through the Adult Continuing Education Office, Chesterfield County Public Schools offers many opportunities in workforce training, GED preparation, enrichment and English for Speakers of Other Languages. Chesterfield County residents who are 60 or older are eligible for discounted fees for some Adult Continuing Education classes through the school division’s Super Senior Passport program.
