Midlothian Middle and Tomahawk Creek Middle recently learned that they are the first Chesterfield County schools to be named national Schools to Watch.
The goal of the Schools to Watch program is to identify and recognize outstanding middle schools. The National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform, which oversees the program, says that Schools to Watch share these characteristics:
Virginia has been one of the 17 states participating in Schools to Watch since 2003.
