Ten students from Chesterfield County Public Schools qualified to compete in the National History Bee:

  • Davis Elementary fifth-graders Jayden Hickman and Allison Zermeno
  • Manchester Middle eighth-graders Zachary Adee, Yash Korde and Tyler Stromberg
  • Robious Middle eighth-graders Jenny Glazier, Kenna Jenkins and Mark Weeden
  • Tomahawk Creek Middle eighth-graders Jack Clabough and Philip Vieira

Their path to national competition began with an online test, which qualified them to compete in the April 23 regional finals in Washington. Their success at the regional bee enables them to compete at the National History Bee. From the Washington regional finals, a total of 57 students qualified to continue to nationals: 18 percent of those regional qualifiers attend Chesterfield County Public Schools.

The top finishers from all 37 regional finals are invited to compete in the National History Bee, which will take place June 6-8 in Atlanta. Details about the national event are available here: historybee.com.
