Children across Chesterfield County registered for kindergarten last Thursday as part of the regional Kindergarten Registration Day. To help rising kindergartners and their parents get ready for the transition into school, Chesterfield County Public Schools and the Council on Family Engagement are hosting a Kindergarten Resource Fair on May 2 from 5:45-8 p.m. at Bird High, 10301 Courthouse Road.
From bus rides to wall words, starting kindergarten is a big step for parents and children. The Kindergarten Resource Fair will give parents of the Class of 2030 an opportunity to check out vendors that will help make the transition a smooth one. Throughout the fair, seven break-out sessions will be held multiple times to cover topics from the value of story time to navigating challenging behaviors. Several sessions will be offered in English and Spanish.
A pizza dinner will be provided and limited childcare is available to children ages 3-10. There is limited space for this event, so register now at https://k-readiness.eventbrite.com.
