Chesterfield County Public Schools has been named one of Virginia’s top employers, according to information released this week by Forbes.
The school division was listed as the 57th best employer to work for in Virginia. The Virginia listing included other nationally known businesses such as Amazon, Fed Ex and Bank of America. According to information shared by Forbes and Statista, America’s Best-in-State Employers were selected based on an independent survey from a vast sample of more than 80,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 500 people in their U.S. operations.
“We are excited to receive recognition as one of Virginia’s top employers,” School Board Chair Rob Thompson said. “Recruiting and retaining a high-quality workforce is a goal shared by the School Board and school division administration. We receive thousands of applications from prospective employees each year who want to join Team Chesterfield, and are fortunate to choose the best of the best to join our organization.”
Added Superintendent Dr. Merv Daugherty: “The School Board works hard to provide a competitive compensation and benefits package that recognizes the hard work of our outstanding teachers and staff, and we work equally as hard centrally to recognize and celebrate the many accomplishments of our staff members. We want employees who love coming to work daily working with our children.”
As a part of the national survey, employees were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Participants were also prompted to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively.
The surveys were administered in a series of anonymous online panels and provide a representative sample of the U.S. workforce.
