Meadowbrook High’s Academy for Digital Entrepreneurship receives $4,500 Capital One grant

Meadowbrook High has been awarded a Capital One grant for $4,500 for the Meadowbrook Academy for Digital Entrepreneurship (MADE). The grant will fund field experiences for students in the MADE program, as well as provide seed money for worthy student startups.

“This grant will provide experience and funding to our students to help take their concepts to the next level,” said Dale District School Board Member John Erbach. “More importantly, this grant will give the students of MADE access to the vast network of human resources and capital that Capital One can provide to not only help our students grow, but also support the growth of the program.”

Capital One recently visited the MADE program to see the program in action and discuss potential partnership opportunities. Following the visit, MADE applied for a grant through Capital One, and this is the first Capital One grant received by MADE.

“At Capital One, we believe that strong communities and strong business go hand in hand. Through Capital One’s partnership with local schools and programs like the Meadowbrook Academy for Digital Entrepreneurship, students are able to gain startup experience and expand their networks through mentoring opportunities with successful business leaders,” said Capital One Senior Vice President of Small Business Card Buck Stinson. “We believe this type of education and interaction will create the next generation of successful founders.”
