The Chesterfield County School Board approved its 2017 meeting schedule during its first business meeting of the new year. A new format will allow board members to concentrate on policy making and decision making on separate nights, and will allow the board to engage residents in two different community settings to expand outreach opportunities.
There are some meeting-day exceptions due to holidays, etc. The adopted calendar is available online at http://www.boarddocs.com/vsba/chesterfield/Board.nsf/files/AHJKVX52F1FF/$file/Approved%202017%20Meeting%20Calendar%20-%201.10.17.pdf.
“This new meeting approach will allow us to become more efficient with our time and more consistent with our approach, allow for more discussion as needed during work sessions and allow the board to engage with residents in different parts of the community,” Superintendent Dr. James Lane said.
The School Board encourages public participation at meetings. Details are available online at http://www.boarddocs.com/vsba/chesterfield/Board.nsf/goto?open&id=88NS2V70A08D.
