Team Chesterfield families,

As we receive new guidance daily from the state and federal levels, Chesterfield County Public Schools continues to adjust plans for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. Please keep in mind that while school buildings are closed for in-person instruction, learning continues. Our role now is to continue to prepare students for success in the 2020-21 academic year to the best of our ability.

Today’s communication includes information about grading. We apologize in advance for the length of this message, but want to be as clear as possible about our work and expectations related to it.

This guidance has been provided by the Virginia Department of Education: “Whereas the VDOE recognizes that decisions on grades are a local decision, the VDOE does not recommend grading work completed during the closures since schools are closed.”
