CCPS 101 Citizens Academy

Creating a Better Tomorrow Today

We are excited to announce CCPS 101, an exciting new program geared towards providing general and in-depth overviews of everything education in Chesterfield County Public Schools. This free program will consist of six sessions and will meet at rotating sites throughout the school division. With a plan to engage attendees around the many things that impact public education in Chesterfield County Public Schools, we begin with a brief overview of the school division and then take a deeper dive covering topics including budgeting, instruction, operations and long-range planning. Participants will not only learn about our instructional practices but develop an understanding of all of the components that go into one of the largest school divisions in the nation.

CCPS 101 is for you!

With the initial cohort designed to accommodate twenty-five community members, we seek to have a diverse audience. Whether you are a new business owner wanting to know more about the community you have recently invested in or a retired community member wanting to know more about how schools have changed- CCPS 101 is for you!

Application Process and Selection

Those interested in attending CCPS 101 should fill out this short application form.   A committee consisting of school staff will select applicants to participate in the CCPS 101 program. The number of participants is limited to approximately 25 and all applicants will be notified regarding their acceptance into the program by October 7. We do ask that you make a commitment to attend all sessions as they build upon each other.  Please email ccpsinfo@ccpsnet.net should you have any additional questions.
