As part of Chesterfield County Public Schools’ plan to start the school year in a virtual learning environment, all prek-12 students will be provided with a personal learning device for use at home or school when we eventually return to in-person instruction.

Any registered BENSLEY School student NOT yet assigned a school division-issued Chromebook can come to the gym on NEXT TUESDAY AUGUST 4, 2020 between 7:30-11 a.m. or 2:30-6 p.m.

No appointment is necessary, but facial coverings or masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Your student does not have to personally attend, but parents are asked to provide their child’s student ID number in order to receive a Chromebook.

If you are unable to make our school’s assigned distribution date, please review the attached document to locate the best time at the nearest elementary school to you.

Unlike previous years, there is no Chromebook fee this school year. There are no forms to complete either. Hotspots will not be available at this event. If you have Internet-access needs, please contact our school directly.

We are excited to provide this learning tool to our students, and look forward to reconnecting with them in September. Please let us know how we can assist your family with this transition.

Don’t forget, we still need you to prepare for eventual return of students for in-person instruction. The school division requests ALL parents update ParentVUE with several key pieces of student-related information. Parents will need to respond for EACH child they have in our school division. Please update this data by July 29. (Staff members will follow up by phone with those who do not complete this request.)

The questions include:

Whether you plan to send your child back to school when public health experts say it is safe to do so OR if your child will continue in a virtual learning environment for the entire school year even when school reopens. (Responses are binding for the first semester of school to ensure schools are staffed appropriately.)

How will your child get to school?

If your child will ride a school bus, are there alternate addresses from which they might be picked up?

ParentVUE is a website or mobile app that provides parents the opportunity to update contact information, view attendance information and access grades at the secondary level. Parents may use ParentVUE to update their email addresses and phone numbers at any time. Access to ParentVUE is available via computer at or via an iOS/Android app
