Happy New Year Bensley Families!

The rest of the 2023 school year will go by quickly! So help students remain focused on reaching their W.I.G.s (Wildly Important Goals). This week begin Mid-Year assessments as we hope our students are able to demonstrate learning growth since the beginning of this year. Our schoolwide goals are to continue to focus on reading/math achievement while effectively integrating science skills. Our engagement goal is to decrease chronic absenteeism. Therefore, it is very IMPORTANT that kids attend school DAILY and ON TIME; unless they are sick. Even then, please contact the teacher to access any work they are able to review so that they may be ready to make up any missed assignments when they return. If you are following our illness return to school protocols and attendance policies, students should not continue to have excessive absences, tardies, and early dismissals.

The end of Quarter 2 is Friday, January 20, 2023 and report cards will be go home on February 6th. Help support your child’s academic success and positive behaviors by making sure they attend school and by remaining in contact with the school and your child’s teacher when you have questions or concerns. Review our parent student handbook inside of your child’s planner or if they are in Kdg. or 1st grade, you may access it online. Help us continue to ROAR with expectations and behaviors shown by ALL!

Bensley is actively planning for our DISNEY Production of “The LION KING”! If your child is in 2nd-5th grade, please read the letter sent home with them last Thursday and return the student interest form by this Friday, January 13, 2023. If your child is selected to participate, we will contact you early next week with rehearsal details!

Finally, we will need to practice our final Lockdown DRILL before the end of this month! NO school Monday January 16, 2023 in observance of the National Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday!

Continue to READ, LEAD, and LEARN with your child because at Bensley, we BElieve in our Tiger Leaders! They will continue to achieve academic success, BE Kind and Safe, as well as use our 8Houses, 8Habits, & 8Sources of Strength to excel!

Thank you for your continued support!
