Some of our most popular clubs and activities during the school year include:

Ambassador – At the beginning of the school year, students in grades third, fourth and fifth are selected by their homeroom teacher to be an ambassador. Each teacher selects two students who exhibit the core values. These students have the pleasure of introducing new students to Bensley. The new students to Bensley are given a tour of the school and receive a pamphlet about the school. The ambassadors have training by the school counselor, Ms. Cartwright, and have monthly meetings about important updates.

Book Swap – Bensley Book Swap reading incentive program began in the summer of 2013. Donated books from local communities and a remaining box of Reading is Fundamental (RIF) books were sorted by grade level and displayed on tables for students to view. Students have opportunities to bring a book from home and swap it for another. By allowing students to swap a book each week, students were able to choose books that reflected their interests and increased the variety of reading options. Each grade level is assigned a certain day.

Career Fair Day – Each year during the Spring, Ms. Cartwright, our guidance counselor, arranges different types of career to be highlighted during our Career Fair Day. The students are prepared for questions they may ask individuals who work in the different fields. Students are excited about obtaining information and given the opportunity to start thinking about the career they would love to work towards.

KIDS Run

TIGER Store – Students in each grade have a designated day to buy items with their “Tiger Dollars” they have earned through incentives in the classroom. Students purchase items with their dollars in increments of 5’s. Happy shopping days!

Safety Patrol – Fifth graders are selected to help monitor the hallways in the afternoons as students border the buses.
