MCES Bullying steps here at Marguerite Christian:
If you have a concern about bullying, please contact one of our school counselors, Allison Piotrowski or Sarah Steppacher, at 804-530-5733, ext. 4710.
After a bullying report has been made, the counselors and administration will investigate to determine if the report meets the criteria for bullying, as outlined by Chesterfield County. The CCPS Standards for Student Conduct defines bullying as “any aggressive and unwanted behavior that is intended to harm, intimidate, or humiliate the victim; involves a real or perceived power imbalance between the aggressor or aggressors and victim; and is repeated over time or causes severe emotional trauma. Bullying includes cyberbullying, but does not include ordinary teasing, horseplay, argument, or peer conflict.” If the investigation concludes that the behaviors fall within the range of bullying behaviors, disciplinary action may be taken. Resources may also be arranged to support the students involved and prevent any future incidents.
