Mr. John Phillips - Principal

The 2021-2022 school year will mark Mr. Phillips’ twentieth year in education and his third as the proud Principal of Clover Hill High School. He is originally from the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania, a graduate of Millersville University, with a Bachelors of Science in Education. His career as an educator began in Stafford County, Virginia as an English teacher and a coach. After relocating to the Richmond area, Mr. Phillips spent twelve years with Henrico County Public Schools, serving as a teacher, head football coach, assistant principal and associate principal. He resides in Chesterfield with his wife, who is a high school counselor with CCPS, and his two sons. Currently, Mr. Phillips is pursuing an Ed.d in Leadership from VCU.

Mr. Eric Pioch Assistant Principal

Mr. Eric Pioch - Associate Principal

Mr. Pioch originally hails from the state of Michigan where he graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in English, Communications and Theatre Arts; upon completing his degree at EMU, he moved south to Richmond, VA.

Mr. Pioch spent the first 10 years of his educational career as an English teacher at Manchester High School where he taught everything from British Literature to World Literature to Theater to Public Speaking classes. From there, Mr. Pioch went to Monacan High School where he served as Dean of Students for two years. During his tenure at Monacan, he earned his master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mr. Pioch is now starting his third year as an assistant principal at Clover Hill High School and first as Associate Principal.

Mr. Pioch enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and is a fan of all Detroit sports.

Assistant Principal Johnson

Mr. Roscoe Johnson - Assistant Principal

Mr. Johnson is excited to join Clover Hill High School this 2021-2022 school year.  He was a military brat and grew up around the world in places like Alaska and Germany, but ended up graduating from Petersburg High School while his father was stationed at Fort Lee, VA.  He graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia where he played baseball and earned a Bachelor’s degree in History.  Mr. Johnson began his educational career in Staunton, VA teaching History and coaching football.  During that time, he went to James Madison University and earned his endorsement in Special Education.  After spending fifteen years in the Shenandoah Valley,  he relocated to Mechanicsville, Virginia to become the head football coach at Atlee HIgh School where he was also a special education teacher and driver’s education instructor. 

Mr. Johnson earned a Master of Arts degree in Administration and Supervision from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University while at Atlee.  Before joining CHHS, Mr. Johnson was with Henrico County schools as an Administrative Intern.  This is Mr. Johnson‘s 26th year in education, and his first year at Clover Hill.  

Mr. Johnson has two daughters in the Shenandoah Valley and a son at Longwood University.  He resides in Chesterfield County with his wife who is a teacher in Chesterfield County.

Ms. Cherel Fitzgerald Assistant Principal

Ms. Cherel Fitzgerald - Assistant Principal

Ms. Fitzgerald originally from Fort Washington, MD has begun her second year at Clover Hill High School as an assistant principal however; she has been a leader in education for 20 years. Four years as a business teacher in Prince Georges County Maryland, one year as a business teacher in Petersburg, VA and 15 years in Chesterfield County Public Schools which consist of 8 years as a business teacher, 3 years as a Dean of Students and 4 years as an Assistant Principal. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Hotel/Restaurant and Institutional Management from Virginia State University, MBA in Accounting from Strayer University and an Ed.S from Liberty University in Administration and Supervision. Ms. Fitzgerald is a proud parent of one son.

Mrs. Collins - Dean of Students

Mrs. Collins is pleased to join the Cavalier family as the Dean of Students. Prior to making her way to the Hill, she held the title of Coordinator of Assessment and Remediation for Tomahawk Creek Middle School. She has also been an instructional leader as well as a math educator for several Chesterfield County Schools. 

Mrs. Collins graduated from Longwood University with BS in Education and a minor in mathematics. She holds a Master’s from Virginia Commonwealth University in Interdisciplinary Studies which gained her the title of Mathematics Specialist. Lastly, she recently completed her Administration and Supervision endorsement through Longwood University.

Mrs. Collins is the proud parent of two grown children, Victoria and Andrew. She and her husband, Michael, reside in Amelia and are huge supporters of the Liverpool Football Club. Go Reds!

Mr. Nate Henry Math & Science High School Coordinator

Mr. Nate Henry - Math & Science High School Coordinator

Mr. Henry is a graduate of McDaniel College with a B.A. in History and Old Dominion University with a M.S. in Special Education. Over a span of 22 years, he has taught a wide range of courses from self-contained ED/LD History to AP US History and Historical Research while serving as a football and soccer coach. Prior to assuming the role of the Coordinator for the Math and Science High School at Clover Hill, Mr. Henry taught AP US History and Historical Research within the program. Both Mr. Henry and his wife (Christine) teach in Chesterfield County while raising three active high, middle, and elementary school age sons.

Mr. Tripp Lawson School Counseling Coordinator

Mr. Tripp Lawson - School Counseling Coordinator

Mr. Lawson is a graduate of Clover Hill High School, class of 1996. After graduating from CHHS Mr. Lawson attended Virginia Commonwealth University where he earned a BS in Criminal Justice. In 2000, Mr. Lawson joined the Virginia Army National Guard and served until September 2008. During Mr. Lawson’s time in the National Guard he returned to VCU to earn his Master of Education/Counselor Education degree. This is Mr. Lawson’s 15th year as a school counselor in CCPS and his 9th year at CHHS serving as the School Counseling Coordinator. Both Mr. Lawson and his wife (Christine) serve as school counselors in Chesterfield County while raising two happy and healthy children.
