All aboard! The holiday season is here and many families find themselves chugging along during these challenging times trying to find safe, festive activities to do. Look no further! Communities In Schools of Chesterfield (CIS) has just the ticket to jump start your holiday celebrations, the CIS EXPRESS!
Thanks to the generosity of TowneBank and other local community partners, CIS of Chesterfield has custom designed a unique holiday lights tour featuring wonderfully decorated homes in the Hampton Park community that is absolutely free. The CIS EXPRESS is a fast track alternative to the typical crowded tacky light tours.
“The CIS EXPRESS is a holiday tour with a mission to positively impact the 9,000-plus students that Communities In Schools of Chesterfield serve daily,” said Superintendent Dr. Merv Daugherty. “We are excited for the community to learn more about CIS, while at the same time having the opportunity to experience some safe holiday cheer and create lasting memories with their families.”
The CIS EXPRESS will run from Dec. 7-20 and includes 10 incredible holiday-themed stops along the way. From the comfort and safety of your vehicle, you will follow the interactive route using an event map, QR codes and your mobile phone. Each of the stops on the tour is connected to the CIS mission and features one of the schools they serve.
Once registered, CIS EXPRESS travelers will receive an electronic event package that includes all the bells and whistles. The electronic package consists of a link to the guided tour, a scavenger hunt for little and big kids alike and the chance to win a Quarantine Basket raffle prize. Other fun surprises will be featured along the way.
2020 has been a rough year, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Let off some steam and finish your year on a positive note by enjoying a free tacky light tour that also benefits our students.
