No one can fully appreciate the great fortune we have to be Americans without knowing the people and events of our history that have brought us to where we are today. The goal of the Carver Middle School social studies department is to guide students toward an appreciation of the progression of the American story and the freedoms we enjoy as United States citizens.
The middle school social studies program focuses on United States Studies. Sixth graders study American history to 1877. Seventh graders continue the focus on American history from 1877 to the present. Civics and economics are the focus of the eighth grade year.
