Many of our rising fifth graders who are interested in doing Battle of the Books have gotten a head start over the summer! Check out the summer BOB list below if you’re interested in joining them. There is a link on the homepage in the News and Announcements section if you read a book and are ready to take a ReadNQuiz on it. Our complete list will be released on the last week of September. We’re going to have such a good time!

Our fourth graders will be receiving the booklist for Fourth Grade Battle of the Books right before Thanksgiving break.

Crestwood Bike Club, led by a local mountain biking team from Coqui Cyclery, takes place on Thursdays after school in the fall and spring. Bike Club participants must be in the 4th or 5th grade. Crestwood Bike Club utilizes the school’s mountain bikes to ride the trails around the school and beyond. We focus on safe cycling skills, respect for all people as well as the environment, teamwork, and having lots of fun.

For more information, contact Mr. Castelvecchi. Mrs Sammon.

Girls Get Going is an after-school running club for girls in grades 3, 4, and 5. We focus on getting exercise through different running activities, as well as work on teamwork and encouraging others. Our goal is to run a little more each session to work on our endurance, while also having some fun!

For more information, contact Ms. Becca Geist.

Our Crestwood Mile Club, the Monarch Marathoners, is led by Mr. Castelvecchi and takes place in the fall and spring. Walkers and runners, including both students and parents, meet before school at 8:30 AM on Thursday Wednesday of each week to enjoy one another’s company while they add up the miles!

The Monarch Marathoners will start running soon after school begins this fall! Come each Monday Thursday morning to join in the focus on fun and fitness!

The start day this spring is Thursday, March 23rd 26th

Each year, during the month of November, Crestwood students learn about careers and college readiness. Our primary grades participate in the Transportation Fair. Here, each class gets to visit with and learn about a different vehicle. This year, the vehicles which came to Crestwood were:

  • An Army Humvee
  • A Chesterfield Police Car
  • A GRTC bus
  • A Chesterfield Animal Control truck
  • A Fire Truck
  • A UPS Delivery truck

If you drive an interesting vehicle for your career and want to help with the next Transportation Fair, contact the School Counselor
