I am extremely excited to be serving J. A. Chalkley Elementary School as your principal. We are dedicated to fostering positive relationships, pursuing excellence in all areas, and growing students who will be outstanding citizens.
My personal journey into education began as a young girl growing up in Bronx, New York, where I began to develop my passion for helping others. Hampton University was the next stop on that journey where I earned my Bachelors of Arts in Political Science. I earned my Masters in Teaching from Trinity University located in our nation’s capital, Washington D.C. While living in D.C. I had the honor of teaching great students in grades K-6 as a special education teacher. Eventually my path led me to Chesterfield, Virginia where I continued to teach special education and ultimately earned a Post Masters Certification in Administration and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University.
In addition to being a classroom teacher, I’ve served as a program coordinator for a special education program and most recently assistant principal in Chesterfield County. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my career and look forward to sharing this new chapter with the Chalkley community.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my beautiful children, ages 5 and 11, as well as my supportive husband. We like to enjoy the simple things in life such as going to the park, bike riding, reading, and board games. My hobbies include reading, working out…some might say I’m a bit of a gym fanatic, and relaxing with family and friends.
I believe that it takes a village to raise a child and I thank you for allowing me a to be a part of the Chalkley village. Please know that my door is always open and I encourage you to reach out to me to share your ideas, thoughts, or concerns. We are in this together to support our students in every aspect of their development.
Yours in Education,
One School.One Dream.One Team
