Ms. Boone - Principal

I am extremely excited to be serving J. A. Chalkley Elementary School as your principal.  We are dedicated to fostering positive relationships, pursuing excellence in all areas, and growing students who will be outstanding citizens.

My personal journey into education began as a young girl growing up in Bronx, New York, where I began to develop my passion for helping others. Hampton University was the next stop on that journey where I earned my Bachelors of Arts in Political Science. I earned my Masters in Teaching from Trinity University located in our nation’s capital, Washington D.C. While living in D.C. I had the honor of teaching great students in grades K-6 as a special education teacher. Eventually my path led me to Chesterfield, Virginia where I continued to teach special education and ultimately earned a Post Masters Certification in Administration and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University.

In addition to being a classroom teacher, I’ve served as a program coordinator for a special education program and most recently assistant principal in Chesterfield County. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my career and look forward to sharing this new chapter with the Chalkley community.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my beautiful children, ages 5 and 11, as well as my supportive husband. We like to enjoy the simple things in life such as going to the park, bike riding, reading, and board games. My hobbies include reading, working out…some might say I’m a bit of a gym fanatic, and relaxing with family and friends.

I believe that it takes a village to raise a child and I thank you for allowing me a to be a part of the Chalkley village. Please know that my door is always open and I encourage you to reach out to me to share your ideas, thoughts, or concerns. We are in this together to support our students in every aspect of their development.

Yours in Education,
Nicole Boone

Hello Chalkley Roadrunners!

I am so excited to be starting year four as one of your Assistant Principals. I am looking forward to working with all of you as we guide and assist your students on their educational journey in elementary school. I began my educational career 19 years ago here in CCPS. I spent 10 of those years teaching 4th & 5th grades at O.B. Gates Elementary. I then moved up to the middle school level for three years teaching 7th grade Life Science at Bailey Bridge and I spent two years as the Administrative Assistant at Marguerite Christian Elementary here in Chesterfield.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Longwood College (certified in grades PK-8) and my Master of Education from the University of VA (Administration/Supervision k-12).

I decided to pursue education as a career because I love teaching and helping others! When I was in school there were numerous times that I struggled with school. So…I know how it feels to not understand something right away!

One of the greatest rewards as an educator is seeing students get excited about learning once they grasp the concepts. If it wasn’t for the support of my teachers and parents I KNOW I would NOT have been so successful. It is with my own experience as well as my teaching experience that I FIRMLY believe… ALL students can learn and be successful with continued support, hard work, perseverance, dedication and a positive attitude. It is with this great passion and dedication that I welcome challenges and will do my BEST to put a positive spin on any situation.

I am able to do what I do because of my wife Heather and two children (Madison and Caleb). Some of my hobbies include doing things outdoors such as hunting, fishing, camping and riding bikes with my kids. I also coach on my son’s baseball team and help out with my son’s Boy Scout Troop.

Welcome to Chalkley and I CANNOT wait to get this year started!
