In the virtual setting, elementary schedules resemble a typical school day as much as possible albeit with a shorter learning day so that young students are not exposed to too much screen time. All instruction, live, teacher-directed (synchronous), and independent (asynchronous) will utilize the Canvas learning management system and paper-pencil activities. For students unable to participate in the daily teacher directed instruction, each school will have designated teaching staff to provide consultation and support during set evening hours. Elementary students should spend no more than 40-60 minutes per day independently on the Chromebook utilizing digital programming (literacy and math combined). (NOTE: All elementary schools will operate on the same time schedule in a virtual setting, but will return to their normal operating schedules once students return to in-person learning opportunities.)
Group 2 will work on independent tasks/activities provided by the teacher when the teacher is working with Group 1.
