School History

Bon Air Elementary History
Bon Air School has been in eight different locations in the Village of Bon Air since the community began as a summer resort in the 1880’s. The present day school was built on the grounds of what was known at the turn of the century as the “Bon Air Garden Plot”, a place for early residents to have community vegetable garden plots. It has been said that the land was an appropriate location for a school since not only the seeds of vegetables, but also the seeds of learning are planted there. An unusual fact about Bon Air’s student population is that three generations of many families have attended Bon Air. The attraction is Bon Air’s village atmosphere, a part of Americana fading from our lifestyle.
