EVERY Day is Library Day at Ettrick!!!
The library doors are open 9:00 – 4:00 every day. Students are welcome to come to the library anytime with permission from their classroom teacher. Students may exchange a book or conduct independent research.
All classes come to the library once a week for 45 minutes as part of the school resource schedule. Mrs. Kyser teaches an information literacy lesson and then the students check out books.
Library Checkout Policy
Pre-kindergarten ~ 1 book Kindergarten and First Grade ~ 1 book 2nd-5th grades ~ 2 books plus a magazine (Second grade starts magazine checkout around January)
Library Book Return and Renewal
Library books are due in one week.
Students who have not finished reading a book can renew it by bringing it to the
library check-out desk to be re-scanned. Third, fourth, and fifth graders know how to renew their own books using their Chromebooks and logging in to their library account! 🙂
Late Book Policy
It is the goal of the Ettrick library for every student to check out every week!
However, we understand that books are sometimes lost or forgotten.
Overdue reminder notices are sent home every 2 weeks.
Lost or Damaged Books
We don’t consider a book lost until it is missing from the library for at least a month. A book is damaged if it can no longer be circulated. A friendly reminder will be sent home with the student stating the replacement cost for the lost or damaged book. We accept cash or check (to: “Ettrick Elementary”) as a form of payment. Refunds will be issued for found books. Please call us or email us to discuss individual concerns. Our goal is for your child to check out books from our library. Let us know how we can facilitate that!
