Thank you for your patience #

It has been a while since we’ve experienced a weather-related emergency during the school day, and we thank you for your patience yesterday as we worked to ensure the safety of our students and staff during the tornado warning. When inclement weather is forecast, we have a team of people in place who closely monitor conditions and stay in constant contact throughout the event. Here are a few reminders in case we experience future such events:

  • We will keep you updated via SchoolMessenger as events occur and as we receive new information
  • Students who are sheltering in place cannot be released from school until the shelter-in-place order has been lifted
  • Because of the way bus transportation is structured, when dismissal is delayed for any set of schools, it typically means dismissal for students who ride buses will be delayed for all schools who dismiss after that time

In case you missed it... #

Speakers Bureau offers straight talk about schools #

Speakers Bureau logo

Chesterfield County Public Schools is on the go, connecting with students, families and community members where they are. We’re rolling out a brand-new Speakers Bureau as part of this outreach. Through in-person presentations to community groups, the Speakers Bureau shares in a lively way the work of #oneCCPS.

Community groups that schedule speakers are invited to sign up to hear “How the Pie Gets Sliced,” “Keeping Up With Cul-de-Sacs,” “Breakfast to Bus Stops” or another Speakers Bureau topic. To schedule a speaker, just fill out the simple form on this page.
