Message from the Principal

At Hopkins Road Elementary School, we are committed to continually demonstrating that Excellence is our common goal! Every member of the Hopkins staff is dedicated to the success of all students. We work diligently to provide an engaging educational experience for every student. School is currently closed to provide an opportunity for Social Distancing to reduce the spread of Coronavirus.  Please use the links on the Hopkins Hub to keep Bobcats engaged in learning.

We recognize that in order to be successful, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership will make a great difference in every Bobcat’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want every member of the community to know that we will do our very best.

Excellence is our common goal!

Grading Overview

Team Chesterfield families,

As we receive new guidance daily from the state and federal levels, Chesterfield County Public Schools continues to adjust plans for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. Please keep in mind that while school buildings are closed for in-person instruction, learning continues. Our role now is to continue to prepare students for success in the 2020-21 academic year to the best of our ability.

Today’s communication includes information about grading. We apologize in advance for the length of this message, but want to be as clear as possible about our work and expectations related to it.

This guidance has been provided by the Virginia Department of Education: “Whereas the VDOE recognizes that decisions on grades are a local decision, the VDOE does not recommend grading work completed during the closures since schools are closed.”
