STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math) is a brand new resource to Chesterfield County Public Schools. Hopkins is very excited to be one of the several schools implementing the program. My goal as the STEAM teacher is to support classroom instruction while encouraging students to develop problem-solving skills & abilities through hands-on activities.  In STEAM, students will work on the 4 C’s: Communication, Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Collaboration through hands-on learning.

Each month, students will be completing a STEAM challenge that correlates to the curriculum in their specific grade level. Along with aligning activities to the Standards of Learning, students will also be exploring what each letter of STEAM represents, reinforcing technology skills/online safety, and researching future STEAM careers.
