Administration

Kristin Saady - Principal

I am excited and honored to join the hive at Hening Elementary as principal!  Thank you for the warm welcome and I am looking forward to getting to know you all.  Prior to this position, I have enjoyed being an associate principal in elementary and an administrator at the middle school level. I have also taught kindergarten, first, second, and third grades, all in Chesterfield County.

I grew up in the Midlothian area and love calling RVA home! I attended Longwood University for my undergrad degree in Elementary Education and Regent University for a Master’s in Educational Leadership.  I am dedicated to educating our students and supporting teachers.  We want

My husband and I stay busy with our daughters, Caroline and Eva, along with our two Goldendoodles. We also have two cats as well as many fish in our fish pond! We enjoy spending time with our family and friends, heading to the beach when it’s warm, and eating out.

Teaching has always been my passion and I am fortunate to be able to work in a place with amazing students and people each day. I look forward to watching our Hornets buzz and grow this year.

Looking forward to an incredible year! We are all in.

Jason Gill - Assistant Principal

Hey, Hening Hornets!

I am SUPER excited to serve as your Assistant Principal. My educational belief is that ALL students can learn no matter what with the right support and a growth mindset. School should be a safe place for students to attend each day and they should feel comfortable sharing their needs as they grow as a learner. Students are most successful when teachers and parents/guardians work together to assist with their child’s learning. As the old saying goes…”It takes a village to raise a child”. We are all in…this together!

Remember…to always do your BEST no matter what! I want you to remember these two phrases that I always like to share with others…
1) “Today is Tomorrow’s Yesterday…SO make it COUNT”!
2) “Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE because the word itself says…I’m Possible”.

I started my educational journey in 2001 as a 4th grade teacher at O.B. Gates Elementary in Chesterfield. For the next 10 years at Gates I taught 4th and 5th grade. I left the elementary level to teach 7th Grade Life Science for three years at Bailey Bridge Middle in CCPS. I returned to the elementary level in 2014 as an Assistant Administrator at Marguerite Christian Elementary with CCPS. After two years in this capacity I moved on to Chalkley Elementary in 2016 as their Assistant Principal. I then had the pleasure of moving over to Hening for the 20-21 school year as your Assistant Principal. I cannot believe I am starting my 22nd year with CCPS!

I grew up in Dinwiddie County, VA and graduated from Dinwiddie High School. I attended Richard Bland College for Associates Degree then moved on to Longwood College where I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education NK-8. I received my Masters in Education from The University of Virginia (UVA) in 2007. In August of 2021 I began my journey on pursuing my Doctorate of Education (Ed.D) at Virginia Tech (VT) with a planned graduation date of May 2024.

I moved to Chesterfield when I started teaching and have called Chesterfield my home for the last 22 years. When I’m not in the school building or working graduate school assignments I love spending time outside with my family camping. I also love to ride my bike, hunt and fish.
