Manchester Middle School has an integrated science program. Simply stated, all strands of science are taught at each grade level, on a spiral in which skills are introduced, explored in ever-advancing difficulty, reviewed, and embellished with inquiry-based hands-on laboratory work.
At each grade level there are strands which are accented.
- Sixth grade accents basic laboratory procedures and equipment, energy, force, motion and energy, earth-space relationships, weather, and an introduction of all other strands.
- Seventh grade accents water and watersheds, cellular and basic life sciences, physics, and the inter-relationships of all things on earth.
- Eighth grade accents life science, the electromagnetic spectrum and energy, and chemistry.
