The Chesterfield County School Board will hold a budget work session at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Chesterfield County Public Meeting Room, 10001 Iron Bridge Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832.

Upon conclusion of the work session, the School Board will adjourn into closed session in accordance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act for the discussion and consideration of personnel disciplinary matters; and the discussion and consideration of student disciplinary matters and matters that would involve the disclosure of student records. The Board will publicly certify the closed session and vote on the matters discussed therein from the dais of the Public Meeting Room just prior to the 6:30 p.m. start of the business meeting.

The Chesterfield County School Board will hold a business meeting at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Chesterfield County Public Meeting Room, 10001 Iron Bridge Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832.

Due to the COVID-19 occupancy limits of the Public Meeting Room and in keeping with safety protocols established by county officials, seating for both meetings will be limited; however, citizens wishing to attend the meetings in person may do so on a first-come, first-served basis.

With the exception of medical or religious exemptions, all citizens are encouraged to wear a face covering while inside the building. Reservations will not be accepted, and citizens are not guaranteed admission.

As previously noticed, public hearings on the Superintendent’s Proposed FY2023 Operating Budget and the Superintendent’s Proposed FY 23-29 Capital Improvement Plan will be held at the start of the business meeting. Persons wishing to speak at scheduled public hearings are asked to notify the School Board Clerk’s Office by 2:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Additionally, those persons who have not notified the Clerk’s Office may sign up to speak at the public hearings immediately prior to the beginning of the meeting at which the public hearing is scheduled.

Public comment will be accepted during the business meeting. Citizens requesting to speak before the Board will be given the opportunity to comment in person at the appropriate time.

Citizens may also submit their comments via the online form found at https://tinyurl.com/CCPS0208Comment. Comments submitted via the online form will be distributed to the Board, made available for public inspection prior to the start of the meeting, and included as an addendum to the meeting minutes. Citizens wishing to address the Board in person during the regularly-scheduled comment periods are asked to contact the Clerk’s office no later than 2 p.m. on Feb. 8. The online comment form will also close at this time.

Citizens may also sign up to speak in person by checking in with the Board Clerk prior to the start of the meeting.

Each citizen may submit only one comment per comment period for this meeting.

Both the work session and the business meeting will be broadcast via live stream at http://chesterfieldschoolsva.swagit.com/live/ and via television on Comcast Channel 98 and Verizon Channel 28.
