Welcome to the Providence Elementary Library! We hope you will visit here often for the latest in library news and events.
The mission of the Providence Elementary School Library is to promote the love of reading and help students become enthusiastic, lifelong readers.
Generally, I am here from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm each day.
Open checkout is 9:05 to 9:25 every day.
Library Checkout Policy:
Kindergarten = 1 book
1st grade = 1 book
2nd grade = 2 books
3rd-5th grades = 2 books and a magazine
All grade levels are scheduled to come to the library once a week for 45 minutes as part of the school resource schedule. I teach a lesson, have story time or help with research and then the students check out books. Students in our AR grades (grades 2-5) may always get a book in their reading zone and a book of their choice. Magazines are checked out to students in grades 3-5. Students should bring their books to the library weekly. If they are not finished a book, it can be renewed once.
Late Book Policy:
Students will NOT be able to check out a new book until all late books are returned, or the replacement fee is paid for a book that is lost. A letter will be sent home with the student letting his/her parent know of any lost library books.
Every day is library day at Providence!
Students are allowed to come to the library any time it is okay with their teacher to return and get new books. They are also welcome to visit the library to take AR quizzes or use the computers with teacher permission.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!
Mrs. Bristow, Librarian (email: firstname.lastname@example.org)
