Rising 7th Grade Parents:

Now is the time to get your child’s required shots updated for entry into 7th grade next year!

The Tdap vaccine booster is required by law for all students entering seventh grade. Tdap provides protection against tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough.

Effective last year, one dose of Meningococcal Conjugate vaccine is also required for students entering 7th grade. Meningococcal vaccines help protect against the bacteria that cause meningococcal disease.

You may acquire vaccines for your child at doctor’s offices, some pharmacies, and some urgent care clinics. The Chesterfield Health Department offers vaccines by appointment only to children ages 18 and under. That phone number is 804-768-7454.
