Jodi Seitz - Principal

This is my tenth year serving as the principal of the Reams School community. I began in the fall of 2012 after being the assistant principal of Harrowgate Elementary for seven years. Prior to joining Chesterfield in 2005, I lived in Chesapeake, VA where I served as an assistant principal and taught K, 1st, and 3rd grades over the course of 16 years. I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The College of William and Mary in 1989 and 1994 respectively.

I believe all children can succeed with strong instruction and parent and community support. I love seeing the smiles on our students’ faces and celebrating their successes with them. In my spare time, I enjoy being on the water, reading, and spending time with my family. But, you might catch me pulling weeds on our school grounds!

I can’t wait to see all of the successes our students, families, and staff enjoy this year as we work to make things happen unhindered!

Cynthia Patey - Associate Principal

I am excited to join the Reams family as your new Associate Principal!  I have over 22 years of experience in education during which I served as the assistant principal at A.M. Davis Elementary, taught first and third grade at Providence Elementary, taught in a preschool  and taught and led at the University of Miami.  My family and I have called Chesterfield County home for over 23 years.  Our 3 children attended several different Chesterfield County Public Schools and moved on to Virginia Tech – making us diehard Hokies.  When we are not cheering on their football team or managing a house full of rescue animals, my husband and I enjoy hiking, spending time at the beach and chasing after our toddler grandson.

Each of my experiences has reinforced my belief that every student is deserving of an education that provides rigorous and relevant learning experiences, includes culturally responsive and social emotional teaching and support, and builds a strong home-school relationship.

I am looking forward to walking this journey with our students, families and staff as a Reams Ram!

Bernard Burwell - Dean of Students

Hello, Hola, Bonjour, Guten tag, and Ni hao,

I am honored to serve as the Dean of Students for The Reams Road Elementary. I am confident that with our excellent students, exemplary staff, and collaborative school community we will succeed beyond measures! In 2015 I graduated from Randolph Macon College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Upon completion of my Bachelor of Arts degree, I served as a special education teacher and leader in CCPS for five years. My special education classrooms encompassed many different abilities and ranged from ESCE-5th grade levels. In 2019, I decided to take the leap to administration. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Education degree in Supervision & Administration from the University of Virginia and will graduate in Summer 2021. I plan to grow with YOU throughout our continued journey to Rams success!

As a child of a military family, I grew up in New York, Virginia, Germany, and many other countries.  This experience has allowed me to appreciate the differences in EACH community, EVERY family, and ALL students. I enjoy reading books ranging from Harry Potter to Pete the Cat! In addition to reading an amazing book, you may find me spending time with my family, exercising or cheering on my favorite teams. Go Yellow Jackets!, Go Cavaliers! Go Lakers! More importantly, you will always find me cheering on the success of OUR Reams Rams!
