Fourth Grade
Language Arts

  • Writing Instruction (centered on the traits: ideas, organization, voice, sentence fluency, word choice, conventions, and presentation)
  • Word Study (tailored to a student’s spelling stage)
  • Hands-On, Relevent to Real-Life, and Conceptual
  • Computation & Estimation, Fractions, Decimals, Patterns, Geometry, Measurement, Probability, Graphing, Multi-Step Problem­ Solving

Science is the other SOL tested course in fifth grade. Using hands-on, experiment driven lessons, students learn about cells, sound, ocean environments, light, energy, matter, and rocks.
