Advisory committees established by the Chesterfield County School Board are one way that community members can connect with their local schools. Such advisory committees can provide guidance and recommendations regarding issues critical to the successful operation and academic performance of Chesterfield County Public Schools.
The Chesterfield County School Board has created a new Environmental Stewardship Advisory Committee (ESAC) to assist in reviewing, evaluating, and making recommendations with regard to current and best practice efforts to sustain and enhance the quality of life as directly tied to school operations and facilities, as well as general public awareness.
The responsibilities of the Environmental Stewardship Advisory Committee include
The Environmental Stewardship Advisory Committee will consist of 10 members to be appointed by the School Board, with two members from each of the five magisterial districts. All seats currently are open for application. In order to stagger terms, one applicant from each magisterial district will be appointed for a three-year term, with the other serving a two-year term.
Applicants must reside in the magisterial district to which they are applying. School Board members will choose members from applicants who reside within their magisterial district.
