School division to launch live help desk to support families’ technology needs

Posted on

Chesterfield County Public Schools will launch a live Technology Help Desk on Friday, providing an additional layer of support for Chesterfield County students and families needing assistance with Chromebooks, Canvas, the learning dashboard, and resetting passwords.

The Technology Help Desk will open Friday from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. It also will be open next week Monday-Friday during the same hours. Chesterfield County Public Schools families can call 804-639-8689 for support. Support is available in other languages as well.

Team Chesterfield staff members will be available to answer questions about the school division’s virtual learning tools, provide support for navigating the school division’s learning management system (Canvas), and connect families to resources that will best support their technology needs.

Specific questions about school-based assignments may be referred back to the child’s teacher. If a call-center support staff member cannot answer the question immediately, the caller will receive a call back from a school division staff member more familiar with the specific inquiry.

Call CCPS, the initial call center that was launched this past spring, was well received by the Chesterfield County community. It helped connect hundreds of families to academic, technology, and social and emotional supports available within the school division and family-related resources accessible throughout the community. In an effort to continue assisting and serving students and families with virtual learning, Chesterfield County Public Schools is implementing the Technology Live Helpdesk to answer questions, present solutions and connect families to resources that will best support their specific technology needs
