By now, you should have received notification that effective Saturday, March 14, through at least Friday, March 27, Chesterfield County Public Schools will be closed. This decision is aligned with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control’s recommendation related to a community mitigation strategy. We will continue to rely on guidance from the CDC, Governor Northam, Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Department of Education about expectations moving forward and will re-evaluate our ability to reopen as we get closer to March 27th. In the meantime, our teachers used today as an opportunity to develop a plan to continue to support student learning during school closure.
Teachers and administration will continue to communicate with students and families as best we can during the next two weeks, please be sure to check your email and/or phone messages. Reach out to your child’s teacher if you have questions related to the instructional resources provided in the plan for continued learning. Below is a link to online learning opportunities each grade level has prepared for student learning to continue during this time. This link will also be posted our school’s website. In addition, we will use our school’s Facebook page as a means for Facebook live as well. Our schools will be open next week from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. for parents to pick up instructional resources if they are unable to access them online. Please do not hesitate to call the school from 8am-1pm with any questions next week.
