Happy Sunday, Seahawk Families! It’s Principal Knight with your weekly Seahawk Playbook. Welcome to Week 26 of the school year.  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Here’s What’s Happening in Seahawk News This Week:

1.  Welcome back to another exciting week full week of learning!

2.  Grade 8 students will be taking the Writing SOL next week on March 23rd and 24th.  If you have NOT completed your preference for your child’s participation in this assessment please use the Google Form below to inform us of your choice. For any questions or concerns please contact our Testing Coordinator Moira Sallade at moira_sallade@ccpsnet.net.

3.  Please don’t forget that we will be offering girls and boys soccer, along with track and field.  If you think your child would like to try out for our team(s) this year, they must have a completed VHSL Participation form (dated after May 20th) and a completed Concussion form.  Please make arrangements to send in or bring them into our school’s Main Office.  If your child is interested in participating in any of our spring sports, please have them complete the corresponding interest form below by today.  We will update interested parents about tryouts once plans are finalized.  And for more information about how the sports season will be handled, please refer to the following information guide.  SMS Spring Sports Guidance.

Reminder news: 

Remember our SMS Recycling Club is counting on us! Please help by collecting the following items and dropping them off at school on between March 22nd – 25th to assist us with supporting the “Beyond the Bag” challenge.

In addition to the Trex “Beyond the Bag” challenge, we are also collecting pop tabs from cans for the Ronald McDonald House. They can be dropped off to school at the same time as the plastic. For those who are returning to in-person learning, there will be 3 white collection bins located throughout the school for their convenience.
