Mr. Hart - Principal

Welcome to Spring Run Elementary School and our wonderful school family.  Our entire school community is dedicated and focused on providing an engaging and relevant education that prepares our students to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world.  We work together with students, parents, staff and community partnerships to help our students achieve academic success.

I have been the principal of this school since July 1, 2013.  Previously, I was the principal of J.A. Chalkley for six years.  Before working in Chesterfield County I was an elementary school principal for three years in Wallingford, CT, an elementary school assistant principal in Lincoln, RI and an elementary classroom teacher in grades 5, 4, 2 and Kindergarten in CT and PA for thirteen years.  I graduated with my administrative degree from the University of CT, my masters degree is in elementary education from Boston University and my undergraduate degree is from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.  I currently reside in Midlothian with my wife, four children and our dog Max.  I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, music, and travel.

At Spring Run we make decisions based on the best interests of children.  We believe children need and deserve opportunities to learn and grow academically, emotionally, socially.  If you have any questions that I can help you with please contact me at 639-6352 or via email at christopher_hart.

Mrs. Keller - Assistant Principal

I began my career in education in 1990. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade in a variety of settings in Maryland, Stafford County, and here in Chesterfield County. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Lee University (College) in Tennessee and my Masters in Educational Leadership from Concordia University (Portland). I achieved National Board Certification in 2009.

My husband and I will celebrate our 30th anniversary this year. We have raised three daughters. Our oldest resides in Richmond and is the mother of our grandson. Our middle daughter is a graduate of Texas A&M University and serves in the Air Force Reserves. Our youngest daughter is pursuing a degree in education.

I joined the Husky team in 2007 as a fourth-grade teacher, and am excited to be one of the assistant principals supporting students, teachers, and parents across the entire school as we inspire, imagine, and innovate together. I look forward to working alongside students, teachers, and parents so that our students will achieve academic and social success.

Daniel Gardner - Assistant Principal

Hello Huskies! I am excited to serve the kids and families of the Spring Run community. I have been a public-school educator since 2005. I have taught multiple grades at the elementary level, earned a reading specialist degree, and served as an assistant principal. For six years I was the principal of Randolph Elementary, a school that serves kids where I live in Goochland County. It was a blessing to be with my own three children as they made their way through their elementary experience. I miss the Randolph Roadrunner family, but am excited to be here and help our Huskies Inspire, Imagine, and Innovate!

Sharing a little bit of my personal story, I am married to my best friend, Shannon. She is a physical therapist for children. We have three kids named Caden, Luca, and Nia. We attend St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Glen Allen. Some of my hobbies include reading, running, singing, and doing home handyman projects.
