TCMS seeks to provide books and resources as well as encourage students to be responsible library patrons. In an effort to assure that the TCMS Library supports the core values of Chesterfield County and materials are available for student needs, the following policy has been adopted for checking out materials:
Students may check-out up the three (3) books at a time. The check-out period is for four (4) weeks. Reference materials and magazines are not circulated. Students with overdue books and/or charges on their account cannot check-out until their account is clear. Curbside check-out coming in late September 2020.
Students may renew their books one time for a period of four (4) weeks. Students wishing to renew should contact their librarian.
TCMS does not charge fines for overdue items. However, once a book has been overdue for 30 days, it will be automatically recorded as Lost in the system and the replacement cost will be billed to the student. Students who find and return the book will have all charges waived.
Students must pay the replacement cost for lost and damaged books. Once students pay for a lost book, the funds are spent to purchase a replacement book. This means that we are unable to refund that money if a student later finds the book.
The library is open during school hours:
Virtual School 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
In Person Instruction 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
