Congratulations Glenda MacNeil, 2023 Teacher of the Year
Glenda McNeil creates a classroom climate that is set up like a magical kingdom, and her mantra is “Once in the kingdom, always in the kingdom.” She continues to follow her students long after they leave her classroom, and they are always eager to return to visit her. Her creativity, calm demeanor and patience are many of the attributes that parents share about their child’s experience of being in her classroom. In her day-to-day teaching, Glenda teaches things to students that are far above and beyond the required curriculum. She inspires others to make the most of every moment we have with the students!
Congratulations Morgan McDaniel, 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year
Relationships, student engagement and lifelong learners are words to describe Morgan McDaniel’s teaching. She invests countless hours getting to know her students and their interests to create a positive classroom community. She loves to use room transformations to allow students to practice skills in real-life scenarios. Lifelong learning is something Ms. McDaniel instills in her students. One of the engaging ways that she models this is through “Teach the Teacher.” Students pick a favorite topic/interest of theirs and teach Ms. McDaniel all about it. We are proud to have her representing Watkins Elementary!
