Hello Wolves! I am thrilled to be a member of the Winterpock family and serve the children of this fine community as principal! I am humbled to work with such a caring and dedicated staff that continually strives to provide the best learning opportunities for all students.
My career in education began in Hanover County as a first grade teacher in 2000 after earning my B.A. in Sociology, Early Childhood Education, and Dance from JMU. I served as a first and second grade teacher for four years at Henry Clay Elementary prior to transitioning to Chesterfield County. I was as a second grade teacher at Salem Church Elementary for two years and a fifth grade teacher at Robious Elementary for one year. During my tenure as a classroom teacher, I earned my M.Ed. in Reading Education from UVA. This led me to serve the children of Colonial Heights in five schools as the Division K-12 Instructional Specialist-Reading Coach for six years. With the dream of returning to one elementary school, I completed my Ed.S. in Administration & Supervision from UVA. From 2013-2017, I served as assistant principal at Laurel Meadow Elementary in Hanover County. I am ecstatic about my third year as the principal of the Winterpock Wolfpack!
I am a native of Hampton, VA and currently reside in Midlothian, VA with my husband, Jeff, soon to be 10-year-old daughter, Mollee, and 8-year-old son, Will. You will find me on the soccer field as a volunteer coach for FC Richmond or putting up over 25,000 Christmas lights on our house! We love going to the beach, playing outside, reading books together, and cheering for the Red Sox!
As a school community, we look forward to partnering with our parents to ensure that each student has an amazing year of learning! Every parent is encouraged to become a member of the Winterpock Team by joining the PTA, attending school events, and/or being a volunteer. Together, as a “pack” we can make a positive impact!
